The cinematic practice of Jean Paulo (JP) Lasmar explores the tension between human vulnerability and the social structures shaping contemporary experience. Blending documentary and narrative forms with a poetic audiovisual language, his work examines resilience, inequality, and the intimate struggles often hidden beneath public perception. Through associative imagery, expressive composition, and instinct-driven storytelling, JP creates emotionally resonant spaces that invite viewers into deeper reflection.

Guided by a commitment to social awareness, he has directed acclaimed projects including The World’s Largest Lost & Found, In Transit, Life Models, Inequality You Can’t Ignore, Eyedar, The Unwearable Collection, and Gabriel Breathe. His films have earned numerous honors, including four consecutive Gold Lions at Cannes, Grand Prix awards at Clio, One Show, and LIA, a Yellow Pencil from D&AD, and multiple festival and industry distinctions.

Across advertising and cinema, JP has worked with global brands such as Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Dexcom, and Johnson & Johnson, and collaborated with filmmakers including Martin Scorsese, James Mangold & Channing Tatum. He holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, as well as degrees in Architecture & Urbanism (Mackenzie) and Cinema (FAAP).
